Vino Cosmo is a London-based experiential wine brand that hosts intimate biodynamic wine tastings timed to the lunar calendar. Founded by Melissa Ariganello, every tasting blends wine education, intention-setting, and a tarot or affirmation card pull into one candlelit evening.

We're not a wine bar. We're not a sommelier's class. We sit somewhere between a dinner party and a ritual — wine you'll remember, paired with the moon you didn't know you were drinking under.

It's the heart of what we do. Biodynamic winemakers have farmed by the lunar calendar for nearly a century, planting on Root days, harvesting on Fruit days, treating the vineyard as a living organism in conversation with the cosmos. Vino Cosmo brings that same logic to the way we drink. Each tasting is timed to a new or full moon, themed around the zodiac sign the moon is in, and built around wines that match the energy of the night.

It's not woo. It's how some of the most respected vineyards in the world already work. We just put the moon on the table.

Biodynamic wine is wine made from grapes grown using biodynamic agriculture — a holistic farming method that treats the vineyard as a living, self-sustaining ecosystem and follows the rhythms of the moon, the sun, and the stars to guide everything from planting to harvesting.

It goes beyond organic. Where organic farming focuses on what you leave out (no synthetic pesticides, no chemical fertilisers), biodynamic farming adds a whole layer of what you put in: natural preparations to build soil health, biodiversity to create balance, and a cosmic calendar that connects the work of the vineyard to the cycles of the natural world.

Every evening follows the same arc. You arrive, settle in with a cocktail before we start, and gather around a communal table set with candles and small bouquets. We open by explaining what biodynamic wine actually is, because most guests have never heard the word before. Then we move through four to five biodynamic wines, each paired with a tasting note, the moon's current phase, and the energy of the zodiac sign it's in.

Somewhere in the middle of the evening, every guest pulls a wine affirmation card. The card sets a small intention for the night ahead. By the end of the evening you'll have tasted wines you've never had, met people you didn't know two hours earlier, and gone home with a Moon & Wine pairing card to keep.

A typical evening runs about two to two and a half hours.

Not at all. We start every tasting by explaining what biodynamic wine means, and we describe each pour in plain language. If you've never said the word "terroir" out loud, you're in the right place. If you're a sommelier, you'll find pours and producers you haven't seen before. The audience is mixed and the format is built to work for both.

Plenty of guests do. Tastings are seated at a communal table, so there's no awkward solo-table moment, and the whole format is built around meeting people. If anything, coming alone gives you the most room to fall into the evening.

Yes. Private tastings are one of the best things we do. Birthdays, hen parties, dinner parties at home, corporate off-sites, brand activations, members' club programming — whatever the occasion, we'll build an evening around it.
