Melissa Rosa, founder of Vino Cosmo

Hi, I'm Melissa Rosa, founder of Vino Cosmo

I'm WSET certified in wine, and I love astrology. I'm also obsessed with the moon. I have a moon tattoo and a dog named Luna, so naturally I host moon-led wine tastings.

I started Vino Cosmo because biodynamic winemakers already plant and harvest by the moon. Nobody was telling the people drinking the wine. It seemed obvious to me: if the grower works to the lunar calendar, the tasting should too.

It began as one tasting on a full moon, in my flat. People came for the wine. What they talked about afterwards was everything around it — the ritual, the conversation, the room.

Now we run tastings every new and full moon across London. Each one opens with fifteen minutes on what biodynamic farming actually is, in plain English. Then I read the moon — what phase it's in, what sign it's in, and what that means for the night. Then we taste three or four wines chosen for it, and everyone takes home a Wineffirmation Card. You don't need to know anything about wine. Most people have never heard the word biodynamic when they sit down.

What we stand for

Our values

Intentionality

Every wine, every ritual, every gathering is curated with purpose. Nothing is an afterthought.

Sustainability

Biodynamic farming respects the earth. We mirror that ethos in everything we do.

Connection

We foster meaningful connections — to ourselves, to each other, and to the natural world.

Cosmic Curiosity

We embrace the mystery of the moon, the stars, and the terroir with open minds and open glasses.

The wine behind the ritual

What is biodynamic wine?

Biodynamic winemaking goes beyond organic. It treats the vineyard as a living organism, guided by lunar and planetary cycles. Planting, pruning, and harvesting follow the rhythms of the moon — the same rhythms that guide every Vino Cosmo tasting.

Every evening opens with an explanation of it, in plain language and without the jargon. By the end, it clicks.

Planted by the moon. Poured by the moon. The wine and the ritual run on the same calendar.
From my flat to across London

We run a recurring Full Moon series at ELK Cafe and a New Moon series with Feminist Wine Bar, and we have poured at Lume, Lower Wine Bar and Finley's. We were brought into Free People's Duke of York Square store for Chelsea in Bloom, and we have hosted for Ripley Wines. Every tasting sells on the strength of the wine and the night around it.
